Supported by a grant from the Robert D.L. Gardiner Foundation, the cemetery was restored in 2022.

Bill Stone stated "Descendants and their families gather and donate sign to commemorate the legacy of their ancestors interred at East Hills. They are direct descendants of the Townsend, Willis, Jackson and Boerem families. The children are the 4th/5th Great Grandchildren of Timothy Jackson/Ethalinda Willis and Obadiah Jackson/Sarah Boerem respectively."
