Planning is underway with the Village of East Hills to continue Phase I of the restoration of the Mackay Estate Gate Lodge including:
- Stabilization of the slate roof
- Remove the graffiti and clean the building's limestone and the Lodge's surrounding walls
- Replace the doors and windows
- Restore the three gate components
Work continues in the area behind the Lodge's gate.

Andy, excellent observation. Harbor Hill Road is a county road in the Village of East Hills. I will forward your comment to Mayor Michael Koblenz and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
Wondering why there isn’t a safe way for kids to leave the back of RHS to get to 7-11, etc. There is no sidewalk on most of that area on Harbor Hill Rd. Can the district or village put in a set of stairs that leads to a crosswalk by the intersection of Mimosa and HH, where there is a sidewalk, albeit not facing traffic. I think an inevitable accident will occur without extra safety measures.
