Work on the Roslyn Grist Mill has reached a milestone that anyone passing by on Old Northern Boulevard can now see for themselves: construction has moved to the south façade, the face of the building that looks out over the street! With each new section of siding and trim installed, the Roslyn Girst Mill is beginning to look as it did when it was first built at the start of the 18th century. This is the product of decades of sustained effort by Roslyn Landmark Society Trustees, preservationists, funders, elected officials, and community members who believed the building was worth saving, and it is exciting to see the fruits of their work so visibly.
The Roslyn Landmark Society will be hosting a media day in mid-October to celebrate the completion of the exterior restoration, with details to be announced shortly. We hope the community will join us to mark this moment in the life of one of Roslyn's most significant historic structures.
