Thank you to all members of the Roslyn Landmark Society who attended the 2024 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, November 6 at My Father's Place at The Roslyn and via Zoom. We had a fantastic turnout once again this year as we celebrated our organization's many accomplishments and successes throughout 2024.
Trustee and officer elections were held during the meeting, renewing the appointments of ten trustees (Carol Clarke, Jordan Fensterman, Aviv Fine, John Flynn, Howard Kroplick, Matt Korn, Ariel Morabito, John Santos, Mitchell Schwartz, Craig Westergard) and three officers (Howard Kroplick, Co-President; John Santos, Co-President & Secretary; Jordan Fensterman, Co-Vice President). Two new officers were also elected (Mitchell Schwartz, Co-Vice President; John Flynn, Treasurer).
During the meeting, Howard Kroplick, Roslyn Landmark Society Co-President, was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation for his extraordinary dedication and exemplary work towards the preservation of historical structures in Roslyn. Former Roslyn Landmark Society President, Craig Westergard, recognized Kroplick as a "tour de force" successor that the Gerrys would most assuredly be proud to have carrying on their legacy.
Special thanks also to Michael "Eppy" Epstein, founder of the iconic Roslyn music venue My Father's Place, for sponsoring the event at the club and for his lively onstage chat about the important place the venue holds in Roslyn history with Roslyn Landmark Society Trustee and Fundraising & Events Committee Chairperson, Rosanna Wolff.
As we continue the mission established by Dr. Roger and Peggy Gerry in 1961 to protect and preserve the many important historic structures in Roslyn, the Roslyn Landmark Society Board of Trustees and staff extend deep gratitude once again to our members and supporters. Your integral ongoing support of our historic preservation efforts in this community is what enables us to maintain and continue the Gerry's legacy.
If you were unable to join us for the meeting, please do not forget to renew your membership for 2025 here.
Be sure to also check out how to join our newly launched Mackay Estate Gate Lodge Founders Club program. As a member of our exclusive Founders Club, your generous contribution will be immortalized at the historic site on a permanent plaque or engraved brick walkway, marking your pivotal role in the restoration of this iconic structure.
We look forward to seeing all of you again at the 2025 meeting next fall!
