On June 13, 1927, New York City celebrated Charles Lindbergh and his May 21, 1927 solo flight to Paris with a huge ticker-tape parade attended by an estimated four million people. That night the celebration continued with a reception at Clarence Mackay's Harbor Hill Estate in Roslyn.
The high society reception was featured on the cover page of the June 14, 1927 issue of The New York Times "Air Hero Lionized at Social Function" .
