The weatherboard installation on the Roslyn Grist Mill is now complete, and for the first time in more than 50 years, the exterior of the building reflects how it looked when it was first constructed at the start of the 18th century. While finish work including shutters and doors remains ahead, this milestone marks a turning point that is visible to anyone passing through the village on Old Northern Boulevard. It is the result of decades of advocacy, fundraising, and painstaking craftsmanship by preservationists, elected officials, foundations, and community members who believed this structure was worth saving. We will be hosting a media day in mid-October to mark the occasion properly, with details to be announced shortly. In the meantime, the mill is there to be seen, and it is worth slowing down to take a look.
