The Flower Hill Garden Apartments on Middle Neck Road in Flower Hill were built in the early 1960s on land which had at one point been a nursery, according to old plat maps for the second section of the Rolling Wood at Flower Hill housing development. It is the only apartment complex located within Flower Hill.

The twin garden apartment buildings were designed by the famed East Meadow-based architect, Holocaust survivor, World War II hero, and author Siegmund Spiegel (who also designed Roslyn's Chalet Apartments overlooking Roslyn’s downtown), and the complex as a whole was developed by the Feist Realty Corporation.

Sitting on property roughly 2 acres in area, the Flower Hill Garden Apartment complex was designed with approximately 64 apartment units. The units range in size from one to three bedrooms.
