- John Remsen also owned a large livery business in Roslyn consisting of 28 horses and more than 40 carriages and farm machines.
- At the time of his death in 1951, Remsen was Chairman of the Board of The Roslyn National Bank & Trust Company.
- The building is still standing as the Kyma restaurant.
