Methodism originally came to the area in 1787 when Bishop Francis Ashbury of England preached in the paper mill off Papermill Road. With the growth of Roslyn's population, the Wesley Methodist Church moved in 1923 from its original location south of 180 Main Street to this Roslyn Heights location. The building was dedicated on October 28, 1923.
The church is now the Roslyn Korean Methodist Church of New York.
