The Magic of The Old Mill
Highlighting an important piece of local history, this short film focuses on the Roslyn Grist Mill during its time as a teahouse and restaurant. Featuring selections from the Everyday Voices oral history collection, it was originally produced as a joint virtual program by the Bryant Library and the Roslyn Landmark Society. The video was created and presented by Carol Clarke and Ariel Morabito of The Bryant Library Local History Collection. With The Roslyn Landmark Society.
On May 25, 2022, the Roslyn Landmark Society and the Bryant Library presented a free Zoom lecture on the Roslyn Grist Mill conducted by The Bryant Library Local History Collection and Roslyn Landmark Society Trustees, Carol Clarke and Ariel Morabito. Attended by 55 viewers, this fascinating lecture focused on the mill when it operated as the Roslyn Mill Tea House (1920 – 1974).
The program featured this 35-minute film of rarely seen archival photography with oral history interview clips from teahouse proprietor, Alice Titus and former Nassau County fire marshal and long-time Roslyn resident, Peter Lynch.
