All are invited to a “Day of Wellness: Nourishment for the Mind, Body & Spirit” at Trinity Episcopal Church on Sept. 28 (from 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.). From yoga to sound healing, music and inspirational talks, this free event features activities to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit.
The Day of Wellness is organized into two sessions, with a variety of workshops. For the first session of the morning (10:15-11:15 am), there will be two different workshops offered, including:
“Sound Healing for Relaxation” led by Amanda Lachowicz, 500hr E-RYT & Sound Healer. Through the healing vibrations of the sound bowls, chimes and other sacred instruments, you’ll experience a meditative journey that soothes the mind, body and spirit. It will provide a restful escape from the hustle of daily life, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and balanced.
“The Still, Small Voice: Music & Meditation” taught by Ariann Huether and Lawrell Arnold. In this session, we will delve into using music within meditation, both as a passive and active practice. We will explore listening to different types of sacred music as a means of maintaining focus during meditation; and we will examine the benefits of vocalizing mantras during practice, and the spiritual and physical benefits achieved.
In the second session from 11:25 AM - 12:25 PM, the two workshop offerings will include:
“Joyful, Gentle Yoga” by Mary Lou Minard, CYT. Join Mary Lou for a Joyful Gentle Yoga class including warm-ups, formal yoga postures, pranayama (breathing practices), meditation and deep relaxation. Please bring your own yoga mat for this practice.
“The Passion for Creation: Natural Healing for Mind, Body, Spirit” by Irene Ross, AADP. This program will focus on how the earth affects the well-being of our minds, bodies and spirits. When we’re out of balance we’re tired, moody, anxious, stressed, have ‘brain fog’–and probably overeat and/or neglect our nutrition. We can learn a lot from creation–flora and fauna; the animal world; birds and bees and even insects.
“Come and connect with like-minded individuals in a welcoming and tranquil environment on Sept. 28th,” said Rev. George Sherrill, Trinity Roslyn Church. “Take a break from your daily routine and focus on self-care and well-being. We can't wait to see you at the Day of Wellness.”
In addition to the two sessions of programs, attendees will have the option to explore the labyrinth walk in Trinity’s beautiful memorial garden. The day also includes healthy snacks.
