Don't miss the Fall Festival at Hicks Nurseries in Westbury from September 14 to October 27, 2024!
Hicks Nurseries is a sixth-generation family-owned and operated business, established by Isaac Hicks in 1853. Relatives of Isaac Hicks owned the Roslyn Grist Mill for 67 years, from 1849 to 1916 when it was gifted to five trustees to be restored as a museum. Among the owners of the Roslyn Grist Mill was Isaac Hicks' nephew Benjamin D. Hicks, from 1887 to 1892. During this time, Benjamin D. Hicks was also the leading advocate for creating Nassau County.
Today, Hicks family members involved with the business include siblings Stephen Hicks, who serves as president, and Karen Hicks Courts, Director of Human Resources.
