The Roslyn Landmark Society is pleased to share that the custom historic doors for the Mackay Estate Gate Lodge have been delivered, marking an important milestone in the ongoing preservation of this landmark structure.
The doors are faithful recreations of the original historic doors that once stood at the Gate Lodge. Crafted by Northwood Sash, a firm specializing in historic millwork and traditional woodworking techniques, the new doors were fabricated using period-appropriate methods to ensure historical accuracy and durability.
In the coming days, the doors will be installed by Island Contracting using historically accurate hardware, further restoring the architectural integrity of the Gate Lodge. This delivery represents another meaningful step toward the full restoration of the building and reflects the careful craftsmanship and research guiding each phase of the project.
