Congratulations to Roslyn Landmark Society Trustee and Secretary Noam Shemel and chef Marc Spitzer of Northern & Main Hospitality, whose new omakase counter, Koyu, was featured in Newsday this week. Tucked beneath Okaru in the 1890 building at 1401 Old Northern Boulevard, Koyu began life as one of the restaurant’s large dry-storage rooms. Noam and Marc reopened an arched stairway to give it its own entrance and turned the space into an intimate twelve-seat sushi counter, a thoughtful reuse of an old building.
Koyu opens to the public on November 5, with reservations beginning October 22. You can read the full Newsday story here.
