Over 75 members of the Roslyn Landmark Society, the Trinity Episcopal Church and community enjoyed the lecture on Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney's art studio held on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
In a wonderful presentation, former congressman John LeBoutillier took the audience back to the Gilded Age to share stories about his great-grandmother and for an inside look at her studio in Old Westbury.
Father George Sherrill, chief priest of the Trinity Episcopal Church, welcomed the attendees.
Jennifer Lister, executive director of the Roslyn Landmark Society, provided a brief history of the historic Church and introduced John LeBoutillier.
John LeBoutillier gave the history of the studio, now his home, and shared amazing stories about his family. In 2020, John was interviewed by New York Magazine in this five-minute YouTube presentation.
