A New York City Italian restaurant is opening in the heart of historic Roslyn Village. Felice, an all-day dining concept, will open Sept. 30 at 1382 Old Northern Boulevard.
The eatery features classic Italian dishes and wines. Menu offerings include crostone ricotta, featuring fresh ricotta, Italian linden spicy honey, figs and sliced almonds; homemade pasta such as baked gnocchi formaggio e tartufo with 24-month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano, taleggio, gruyere, blue cheese and black truffle; and linguine ai frutte di mare with Tuscan style mixed seafood, white wine sauce, garlic, fresh parsley and crushed cherry tomatoes.
The restaurant is owned by SA Hospitality Group. Its culinary director is Iacopo Falai, a native Florentine. The executive chef is Niccolo Simone, who was born in Florence and studied at Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts School. Niccolo spent several years cooking at ultra-luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants, including the Four Seasons in Florence and GlassHouse in London.
The restaurant’s intimate, open space was designed by Robert McKinley, whose clients include The Surf Lodge and Ruschmeyer’s in the Hamptons. It is adorned with rustic materials and colors that are intended to harken “a bucolic landscape,” according to SA Hospitality.
Several of the space’s original design elements complemented with exposed wood beams in the vaulted ceilings, oiled woods and lime-wash paint finishes. The bar walls are decorated with bold colored stripes inspired by a Florentine excursion.
Additional SA Hospitality restaurants include Sant Ambroeus and Casa Lever.
