On Friday, September 18, Professor Kevin Wolfe and six students from Pratt Institute's historic preservation program visited the Roslyn Grist Mill to tour the site and see the restoration's progress firsthand. Five of the students are pursuing degrees in historic preservation, with the sixth studying planning, and this year's group brought a wider mix of backgrounds than usual, including several career changers coming to preservation from fields like marketing and architecture.
Roslyn Landmark Society's co-president, Howard Kroplick, and construction site supervisor, Don Krug, walked the group through the history of the project, the work completed to date, and what's still ahead, continuing a tradition Professor Wolfe has kept up with the Mill for several years now.
The Roslyn Landmark Society thanks Professor Wolfe and this year's students for their visit, and looks forward to welcoming Pratt back again next year for this annual visit.
