On February 3-7, 2025, construction crews and skilled timber framers from Vermont started work on the Roslyn Grist Mill's roof structure with installation of the roof rafters and framing. The new rafters, fabricated in Vermont, were delivered and the historic site was mobilized in preparation for the roof installation in late January.
The newly fabricated rafters are being installed to provide stabilization for the structure's roof. The Roslyn Grist Mill's original hand-hewn rafters will then be installed beneath the new ones to retain the mill's historic character and integrity.
