RHS SENIOR HONORED DURING BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Roslyn High School senior Brooke Williams was named a Distinguished Honoree and presented a citation during Black History Month by NYS Senator Anna M. Kaplan. She was recognized alongside other young change agents across Nassau County for her academic accomplishments and leadership.
Brooke currently serves as President of the Diversity Club, Manager of the Color Guard, Secretary of JANE (Gender Equality Club), and Treasurer of the World Language Honor Society. She was recently selected as a student representative to the high school’s Shared Decision Making Committee, where she brings a powerful student perspective and voice to the discussion.
Within the Roslyn community, Brooke has dedicated countless hours to a variety of service projects including: Women of Integrity Inc., The Roslyn Summer Academy, and Gen-Rise— a multimedia youth-led organization where she lends her talents as a graphic designer and illustrator.
This past fall, Brooke was selected as a QuestBridge Scholar and will attend Northwestern University on a full four-year scholarship.
“We commend Brooke for her dynamic leadership and selfless giving, and we’re excited for her future accomplishments and contributions,” said guidance counselors and faculty advisors William Caruso and Tanya Baptiste.
