Freelance Office Assistant Job Posting
JOB DESCRIPTION
The office assistant is an integral member of Roslyn Landmark Society’s diverse and talented team. A qualified candidate has administrative experience as well as comprehensive understanding of a nonprofit organization’s daily needs. The Society is looking for someone who is personable and professional. The office assistant will report directly to the executive director.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer phone inquiries and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain calendar and scheduling for events, meetings, and public programming
- Aid in the documentation of the Roslyn Grist Mill as a nationally significant landmark
- Help grow the Society’s “Then & Now” campaign across the Village of Roslyn
- Research additional granting opportunities
- Coordinate covenant programs including scheduling inspections for trustees
- Maintain and enhance donor/sponsor campaigns
- Oversee logistics of the 2022 Annual Meeting
- Establish a Roslyn Landmark Society student campaign
- Manage files, records, and correspondence for meetings
- Prepare information and research for executive needs
- Oversee mail deliveries, packages, and couriers
- Purchase and track office supplies
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrates diplomacy, sensitivity, and flexibility when interacting with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive tasks
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends in accordance with scheduling needs
- Expertise in Microsoft Office and Constant Contact

JOB TYPE: Freelance with the possibility that it can become a full-time salaried position
Pay: $15 - $25 per hour, based upon experience
Part-Time: 2-3 days a week working at Roslyn Landmark Society Headquarters, 36 Main Street, Roslyn
