The Village of East Hills is pleased to announce that The Arbor Day Foundation has named the Village of East Hills a 2025 Tree City USA in honor of its continued commitment to planting, growing, and maintaining trees to benefit the community.
“The Village of East Hills is proud to be recognized as a Tree City USA community,” said Mayor Michael Koblenz. “Our ongoing investment in tree planting, maintenance, and environmental stewardship helps preserve the natural beauty of our village and park and enhances the quality of life for our residents.”
The Village will host its Arbor Day ceremony on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 4:15 pm at The Park at East Hills.
The Arbor Day Foundation is a global nonprofit with a mission to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. Its network of more than one million supporters and partners has helped the organization plant more than 500 million trees in forests and communities across more than 60 countries.
In villages and neighborhoods, trees are proven to help mitigate the urban heat island effect, reduce stormwater runoff, improve air quality, and boost mental and physical health. When the right trees are planted in the right places, they can also reduce traffic noise, increase property values, and lower energy costs for homeowners.
