The renowned Chilean poet and Nobel laureate Gabriela Mistral lived at this Roslyn Harbor location for the last four years of her life from 1953-1957.
On July 18, 2015, a commemorative plaque was placed in Roslyn Harbor by the Consulate General of Chile in New York and the Gabriela Mistral Foundation honoring the 70th anniversary of her Nobel Prize in Literature.
