Hempstead Harbor Burying Ground, active from 1799-1861, is the only burying ground in the Village of Roslyn. Roslyn Cemetery is located in Greenvale and the Townsend Cemetery is located in East Hills.
Located at the end of Hillcrest Avenue, Hempstead Harbor Burying Ground was the site of over 150 to 200 internments. It was also known as the Old Roslyn Cemetery and Old Hempstead Harbor Burying Ground.
One headstone associated with the burying ground, minister David Buck, has been located off-site.
A survey of the 31 cemeteries located in the Town of North Hempstead can be found in the above Project Files.
