Roslyn Harbor Village Hall

Roslyn Harbor Village Hall was built in 1975 during the administration of Mayor Robert Lisle after the Incorporated Village of Roslyn Harbor obtained this one acre parcel of land from Nassau County through a land swap. The Teamster's' House was moved from this site in 1979 to its present location on East Broadway.

As part of the deal, Nassau County would give the Village of Roslyn harbor this one-acre parcel formerly part of the County’s Center for the Fine Arts and its Bryant Preserve in exchange for the roadbed of the southernmost, abandoned portion of Motts Cove Road, now located within the Nassau County Museum of Art; the land given to Nassau County by Roslyn Harbor was roughly one acre, as well.

The erection of Roslyn Harbor’s village hall enabled the village to conduct its meetings, as well as its village court and business operations, in a more efficient way, as the village previously conducted its meetings in the homes of its village clerks.

The meeting room inside Roslyn Harbor’s village hall was designed to accommodate roughly 75 people.

The building’s dedication ceremony and an open house took place on Thursday, September 4, 1975.
