On Thursday, October 8th at 6 p.m., the Roslyn Landmark Society will host a lecture by Preservation Long Island in conjunction with their current exhibition, Wood and Water: Furniture on Long Island, 1660–1860, on view through November 22nd at their exhibit space in Cold Spring Harbor. The exhibition traces two centuries of furniture-making on Long Island, exploring the craft traditions, materials, and makers that shaped domestic life across the region from the mid-17th century through the mid-19th, including furnishings found in the Van Nostrand-Starkins House of Roslyn!
