Thank you to all those who attended the second lecture in Roslyn Landmark Society’s 2024 Speaker Series, “Trinity Church’s Gilded Age Personalities," on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Roslyn's Trinity Episcopal Church.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Jean Henning, current Conservation Project Coordinator and former Museum Educator for over 25 years at the Nassau County Museum of Art, for her incredibly detailed and insightful presentation about the history of Trinity Church and the prominent “Gilded Age” personalities involved in its creation.
Henning combined her extensive expertise and creativity to deliver an engaging blend of educational lecture and walking tour through the interior and exterior of the church building and adjacent parish hall. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the church’s Civil War-era tomb, creation of its many beautiful Tiffany stained-glass windows, and colorful local figures like Katherine Duer Mackay.
Special thanks to Lisa Hendrickson and the dedicated staff of Trinity Episcopal Church for once again partnering with the Roslyn Landmark Society to bring our community members a successful event, as well as to Florence Westergard for lending her multimedia expertise.
Whether you joined us in person or virtually through Zoom, your presence and engagement are deeply appreciated. If you missed Sunday’s event, be sure to watch the recording of the lecture available on the Roslyn Landmark Society’s YouTube channel.
