The International Time Capsule Society (ITCS) has registered the Roslyn Grist Mill 1917 "Messages in a Bottle" be on their website. Below is their request for the registration:
Dear Howard,
I am writing to you concerning the Roslyn Grist Mill time capsule, which came to our attention via an article in fox5ny.com on December 1, 2020.
I am writing to you from the International Time Capsule Society (ITCS) based at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta (builders of the first modern time capsule - the Crypt of Civilization). For more than 30 years our library has registered many thousands of time capsules from all over the world. We catalog, map, preserve and transfer this information to the Worldcat.org.
Unfortunately most time capsules are lost or forgotten and as a result stories and history is lost with them. In an effort to prevent this, the ITCS maps and catalogs time capsules as a free public service.
We would love to record your Roslyn Grist Mill time capsule - it is a library service offered by the ITCS. The registration process can be accessed here https://libraryrecords.not-forgotten.com/digital/collection/p21072coll2
Each time capsule is cataloged and mapped (with various privacy options). By registering a time capsule its library record will facilitate it being traced decades from now.
If you know a more appropriate person who we should talk to - please pass this email on, or reply to us with their email address.
Our dedicated members focus on time capsule technology, consulting, cataloging and research. Our society's mission is:
- To maintain a registry of all known time capsules.
- To establish a clearing house for information about time capsules.
- To encourage study of the technology, history, variety, and motivation behind time capsule projects.
- To educate the general public and the academic community concerning the value of time capsules.
- To maintain and share a global directory of time capsule interested parties
We would be happy to answer any queries you might have.
Kindest,
Mark
