Pharmacist Gives Chains A Run For Their Money

Manhasset resident Dr. Chris Papazian, a third-generation pharmacist, is owner of the Roslyn Pharmacy. Opened in 2009, the store is a perfect fit for a historic village. It is conveniently located adjacent to the Roslyn Clock Tower at 1314 Old Northern Blvd.
Customers that visit the pharmacy daily always enjoy stopping in. One customer who was away for a week mentioned that she “missed coming into the pharmacy.” It is that type of atmosphere that Roslyn Pharmacy creates for its customers. They also know it is a place where they can custom order what they need. Roslyn Pharmacy did not miss a day during Hurricane Sandy; with a backup generator they were there to service the entire neighborhood in that time of need.
Dr. Papazian is also pharmacy preceptor and adjunct professor for College of Pharmacy Students for both St. John’s University and the University of Buffalo. Students are assigned to his pharmacy monthly to fulfill their internships and work under his tutelage.
Roslyn Pharmacy is the ultimate alternative to a chain pharmacy with prices just as competitive as the chains without the hustle and bustle. It has free delivery and pick up during the day as well as curbside pickup. Customers at times call with an emergency and delivery is made quickly.
“Our customers all share in supporting the local stores. They understand local support means a thriving village,” said Dr. Papazian, “Patrons would rather shop here than go elsewhere just due to the convenience and service. One thing you learn after being in a family business for close to 100 years is if you work hard, put in your time and are loyal to your customers .your customers will in turn be loyal to you. This is the main goal and focus of Roslyn Pharmacy.”
The pharmacy is a strong supporter of the local schools, sport teams, historical society and the Henry Viscardi School, and donates back to the community and various associations. Store hours are seven days a week, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What you heard is incorrect. The family has not announced the causes of Chris and Andrew's death. Their privacy should be respected.

From Joan Auerbach:
I sit here in a state of disbelief at the passing of Chris and Andrew. These brothers, a beautiful pair of souls, helped soften the edges of today's world by providing old-fashioned service and friendship in their pharmacy. They dispensed, along with their medicines, lovingkindness, and no doctor's prescription is more powerful than that. I had the pleasure of meeting their devoted mother on several occasions, both in the store and, unexpectedly, when she delivered pills straight to my door. I extend my deepest sympathy to her, and to all family members, friends, and associates. My heart is heavy. These fine people wanted nothing more than to be a part of, and contribute to, a community that valued and respected them. I hope they know how much they accomplished. My heart aches for Andrew and Chriss families. These were two wonderful kind, big hearted gentlemen. Both made you feel so welcome, Chris would show me pics of his shepherd and I would bring Andrew bagels which he love so much. Two smart men, loved by the community and will always be in my heart. Prayers to their families during their grieving process.
We are very heartbroken to hear this news. We used to get all our medications at the
pharmacy and when I called there, Chris knew us, asked how we were and how our son was
doing. Anything we needed was available at the store and if it wasnt there, Chris made sure
he ordered it for us. The passing of these two wonderful men will leave a huge void in the
community. Our condolence to their families.
May they Rest In Peace💔😢
Every time I came into the pharmacy Chris greeted me with a big hi chucky, was always a pleasure seeing Chris, Andrew and team. For years we talked about stripper fishing out East..sending my deepest condolences to your family during this difficult time, Charles Drogaris Roslyn NY
We are heart broken. We considered the boys our family. I will miss Chriss voice saying Linn what can I do for you and then telling me my prescription will be in my mailbox shortly. The amount of care and thoughtfulness he showed my mom, dad, 4 kids will always be in my heart. We send our condolences to their mom, wives, and of course their children which they were so proud of.
Chris and Andrew were the Quintesential Shopkeepers, and a Tremendous Asset to the Community. They will be Sorely Missed.
So tragic and truly devastating to the so many people Chris and Andrew helped and touched. As customers for the last seven years, they were always so good and kind to our family. What a sad huge loss.
Gone to soon...they were the best of us all and may their memories be a blessing. Always in our heart the Emrikian family mourns. Prayers and condolences to family and friends 💖
