The Wharton Graduate Emeritus Society consists of 11,000 Wharton MBA graduates who are now post 45th anniversary of graduation or retired. As part of the 2025 Wharton Graduate School reunion, the Society held its annual luncheon last weekend. It awarded the Crandall Challenge Citation, its highest level of recognition, to three graduates who “have continued to utilize their education to make the world a better place.” Receiving these honors were the late Clark Shaifer, James Wilbur and Howard Kroplick, currently co-president of the Roslyn Landmark Society.
Among Howard’s non-profit activities cited were his roles with the Roslyn Landmark Society, the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center, Preservation Long Island, the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society, his VanderbiltCupRaces.com website and as the former town historian of North Hempstead.
McClain Gordon, chair of the 2025 Crandall Citation program (seen in the above photo), said: “The Emeritus Society is pleased to honor Howard Kroplick. The involvement of Wharton MBAs in products and services that have changed our society is broad and Howard is a prime example. Best wishes for his continued success in the field of historic preservation.”
Speaking at the reunion ceremony, Howard thanked the Society for this special honor. ”I tell everyone that I am not retired, I’m refocused. And using the skills that I have acquired at Wharton and my business career, I am refocused to give back to my community.”
