The Roslyn Landmark Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Bounaix to its Board of Trustees. Her appointment will be put to a membership vote at the 2026 Annual Meeting this fall.
Michelle brings to the Board a combination of deep local roots and professional expertise that makes her a natural fit for the Society's mission. A lifelong Roslyn resident, she attended school from the Heights through Roslyn High School before returning to the area in 2020, where she now lives in Roslyn Estates and has become an active presence in village affairs.
Professionally, Michelle works in business operations and project management with a focus on architectural products and international construction projects, collaborating with architects, contractors, engineers, and manufacturers on large-scale developments. That work sits at an interesting intersection with the Society's own concerns, and her longstanding personal interest in architecture, design, and landscaping gives her an appreciation for how buildings and their surroundings together shape the character of a place.
On her interest in joining the Board, Michelle put it well: preservation is about more than protecting structures. It is about helping people understand the stories behind them and maintaining the sense of place that connects a village to its past. That perspective reflects exactly the spirit the Roslyn Landmark Society works to uphold.
Michelle is also an active member of the Roslyn Estates Civic Association and has been a paid member of the Roslyn Landmark Society in good standing.
We look forward to formally welcoming her at the Annual Meeting this fall.
