This Colonial Revival House was built around 1900 for Walter George Oakman, Sr., chairman of the board, Guaranty Trust Co. Designed by architect Grosvenor Atterbury, it stood with a stable and farm buildings on 68 acres between Mineola Boulevard and Old Boulevard in the hamlet now known as Roslyn Heights.
In 1912 the property was purchased by Henry D. Waldbridge and renamed it Waldene. The estate was put up for sale in 1935 for $297,500 ($5.7 million today) and marketed in the above brochure in the project file.
The property was purchased by Samuel Rubin (sic Rubel) in the the 1930s and demolished for the Roslyn Pines housing development.
