Great article--very useful in several ways. I'll mention only its description of the contents of it as a museum. There is an old dress on the third floor of 36 Main. I hope it still there--after about ten years--my wife, an expert in antique textiles--loved it and at that time had the staff to restore it.

Bob, thanks for the comment. All the Roslyn Estates profiles now have the 1914 map included as an asset. Howard

Howard, what a great assembling of historical materials. The Roslyn Estates map of 1907 (in the map of 1914) is of particular interest to me as the Village Historian. I have never seen the color version of the map (only a copy in black and white) and the Zoom feature makes it possible to read the details now. I will need to study it further, but it seems the houses in red are those contracted by Dean Alvord (the earliest of those you've help date as 1907-08) but those in black seem to have existed at some time before he developed RE. If so, that is revolutionary in my understanding. A suggestion: this map should be linked also to the section in the site on RE. Thank you so much for all your research and presentation.

I didn’t know that Paul was twice married, only knew about Joanne Woodward. Mrs. Paul Newman that is pictured in the article is Jacqueline Witte. They were married 1949 thru 1958. They had 3 children, then Paul and Joanne had 3 children as well.

This is such great news. I am so grateful to see such an active and productive team at Roslyn Landmark Society. It is refreshing to know that this history minded group has put preservation at the foreground making Roslyn a leader in the landmark restoration field. Thank you!

I went to Limani in Manhattan and Northern Blvd locations and decided to try the new restaurant. First of all, I requested a later reservation but was told fully booked which was far from being true. Too many people, food was good and service was okay.
