Jason, our construction manager informed me today that anchor rods and tie-down strapping will be constructed after the timber frame is re-installed and the structure lowered to the the new foundation.
I have very fond memories of tea and cinnamon toast with my parents at the Old Mill in the mid-60s. It will be a great pleasure to see the place again.
Just viewing this building on streetview, hasn’t changed too much. The small sapling in front ( the photo here ) is existing and grown up 🙂 Store now doesn’t cater to fishermen 🦀🐟 anymore.
Howard, Cartier's 19 plus acres estate on Hempstead Harbor, was bound on the north by Mott's Cove. It was built by Thomas Clapham, an old sea captain, pre 1900 and in style of a castle containing 35 rooms and said to be the truest castle on Long Island. Cartier paid $125,000 for it and after being unoccupied for several years, it was purchased by Mrs. Sarah H. Wider Hughes for less than $50,000 in 1944

Jason, excellent question. We will check with our architect and foundation supervisor for the answers.
