I took my family to Limani Mezza for dinner at the end of May, 2021. Best food ever. Fresh wonderful seafood and vegetables. All prepared beautifully. Full compliance with Covid restrictions. I look forward to going back soon.

Great map and early photos of the area around the Rail Station--an area I've spent a good amount of time. Do you know if the legend is true that Christopher Morley saved the Victorian building that housed the station? He was an avid commuter on the railroad and often walked smoking a pipe from his home in Roslyn Estates to take the train to his office in Manhattan. Though he sometimes took the electric train from Manhassett, he loved the steam train at Roslyn.

Fascinating account of how Roslyn suffered during the American Revolutionary War--unknown to me previously

The house pictured as 51 East Broadway is incorrect. That is not the Mott Agee Skewes house.

Amazing profile! It really goes to show just how large of an impact the Roslyn Plaza Urban Renewal Project had on the train station area. And the development after the train’s arrival serves as a reminder that transit-oriented development is a MUCH older development process than it often comes off as being nowadays.

From Joan Auerbach:

I sit here in a state of disbelief at the passing of Chris and Andrew. These brothers, a beautiful pair of souls, helped soften the edges of today's world by providing old-fashioned service and friendship in their pharmacy. They dispensed, along with their medicines, lovingkindness, and no doctor's prescription is more powerful than that. I had the pleasure of meeting their devoted mother on several occasions, both in the store and, unexpectedly, when she delivered pills straight to my door. I extend my deepest sympathy to her, and to all family members, friends, and associates. My heart is heavy. These fine people wanted nothing more than to be a part of, and contribute to, a community that valued and respected them. I hope they know how much they accomplished. My heart aches for Andrew and Chris’s families. These were two wonderful kind, big hearted gentlemen. Both made you feel so welcome, Chris would show me pics of his shepherd and I would bring Andrew bagels which he love so much. Two smart men, loved by the community and will always be in my heart. Prayers to their families during their grieving process.

Sandy & Rich Branciforte

We are very heartbroken to hear this news. We used to get all our medications at the
pharmacy and when I called there, Chris knew us, asked how we were and how our son was
doing. Anything we needed was available at the store and if it wasn’t there, Chris made sure
he ordered it for us. The passing of these two wonderful men will leave a huge void in the
community. Our condolence to their families.
May they Rest In Peace💔😢

We are heart broken. We considered the boys our family. I will miss Chris’s voice saying Linn what can I do for you and then telling me my prescription will be in my mailbox shortly. The amount of care and thoughtfulness he showed my mom, dad, 4 kids will always be in my heart. We send our condolences to their mom, wives, and of course their children which they were so proud of.
