I grew up on Mideood Cross in Northwood-now named Country Estates North! Watched Country Estates being built from our backyard. And remember playing with friends at the ruins, the fountains and stone work of the Mackey estate.
it was either 1965 or 1966 in october, i remember the sky was lit up like a scene from gone with the wind the burning of atlanta. the huge stables and barn were burning and the smoke smelled of hickory , i imagine the beams of the structures were made of hickory. it was a huge fire and nothing remained, i believe today the site is the equestrian parking lot.
Wow. I work as a letter carrier in Farmingdale ny I came across this small cemetery at the corner of Grant and Rose st. I took a picture of the bolder that sits at the corner took a snap shot. And know trying to find out curiously how people went along in their daily life’s in Farmingdale

Nice job and a wonderful tradition of honoring the trees and hands!
Do you need extra hands as the efforts move forward with continued construction?
Thanks
Patrick
I was a member of this company tor over 10 years in the seventies. I was aghast when I learned the building is now a furniture store. What a slap in the face to the memory of Peter Lynch and all that went before that raised the money to build that beautiful building.
